TBH, little city streets are few and under much observation, we can expect the men of cork or any other town to be on the alert, any weird acting strangers are duly noted for further observation.
The main problem for her is that she probably doesn't get a clear look at a covered foreigner face of which there are now many.
What can you expect?? Short black hair, tanned complexion.
The thing is that Town becomes a small place over the days so it's likely that she'll bump into him again and will have her go-pro switched on next time;)

So what she isn't preaching race but it's her & family/communities immediate safety being discussed, they're learning now that the trouble's on the local streets.
