We are within a year or two of finding out for sure, after waiting decades. Private ventures like Bezos and Musk might be sooner but I think in 2023 nasa will try to have people circlet noon and the following year land. 55 years after they supposedly did it in 1969. We shall see.
It will be a great I told you so moment for one side or the other.
I half think the Chinese will get there before us all.

If you use a hypergolic fuel with oxygen, no ignition is needed.
It would have been pretty amazeballs if it was all one take but of course it isn't, it's two.

I'm sure you're aware that NASA has a T-minus countdown (which is publicly available information) for every rocket launch. So the second segment could have been timed relatively easily to that (it's still very neat though)

I actually had the chief systems engineer out the other day. The calibration is done on The James Webb on July 12.
He was impressed that I knew all about it.
But I asked him a question and he was unable to answer.
If the Universe is 14 billion years old, how can it be 96 billion light years across. I got a less than stellar tip.

Well as soon as he agreed that it is impossible (supposedly) to exceed the speed of light, he was flummoxed.

He had spent years at a high level with NASA without figuring this out.

The Webb telescope isto be completely calibrated on july 12

Valamhics comment.

Same day as the Orange marches

I asked my cousin who worked on building the camera for it if the small impact would damage it and he said definitely not.

The camera was built in Waterford and Dublin. He is a genius too and we discussed the design at a recent funeral.

The surface area of a sphere with a radius of 3 = 113. Or 36 Pye. Now see what the surface area is if it is twice as large.

4 pye X 6 squared.
So 4 pye X 6 sq = 452 or 21 pye.

...........................................................................................................................

So you can extrapolate from that that as you double the diameter you increase the surface area by a factor of 4
144 pi.

Surely you can hire ukrainian women but remember that you need two of them to lift a round bale as it is heavy.

I see where people are concerned about a WOBBLE and some claim the Sun is setting many degrees away from normal

I will watch that later. I had the retired chief systems engineer for the entire project out on a tour a few weeks back as I said before.

Makes you wonder about impacts in the Apollo missions???

The telescope ison a special location exactly a million miles from earth . 4 times further than the moon.

I have to read up on what makesthislocation so vital

They lauch this rocket this month but it is unmanned. In 2024 they plan to fly people around the moon and land in 2025 at the earliest.
So within presumably 18 months we will see if they can go through the Van Allen Radiation Belt.

I see where an irish woman has been chosen to fly round the moon in Musks craft in 2023. Next year.

So the question of radiation will be answered for once and for all.

I will be surprised if this goes ahead. We shall see.

Her last name is Adam.

Never heard of anybody in Ireland with that name.

50 years if they go back now, but 60 if they go back in the 2030s which is what the Newstalk article says:

NASA’s newest project Artemis seeks to send people to the moon by the 2030s.
But let's face it, they're never going "back" to the moon.

The mission is named after the Greek goddess of the moon and sister to Apollo - who the previous lunar mission was named after.
Fun fact: Artemis was also the goddess of sudden death, aka dying suddenly.

His hero is his radical Marxist sister who arranged abortions for Irish women in a tower block in East London. He wants to kill old people like his dad.

If Luke O'Neill was YOUR son, you'd want to kill yourself too.
