"The report paints a dire picture of a future in which the defence forces and emergency services will become increasingly stretched.

It also predicts that hospitals and health professionals will be confronted by new communicable diseases.

There could also be threats to critical infrastructure and food supplies as rising temperatures affect crops and fish stocks.

The report also highlights how climate change could undermine our economy, trade and financial systems."
What complete and utter bollux!!

Go find someone to buy the Brooklyn Bridge off you and then perhaps they might swallow this shite as well.

It's just total trolling at this stage.
Every post it makes is just to be contrarian to the consensus.

All this global warming and climate change along with rising sea levels must be the reason Barak and Michael Obama are buying numerous beachfront properties all over the place.

Ready to sell off at a profit when the global warming scam collapses. I wonder what other investments are being made by the elite in anticipation of the day.

What has that to do with the climate change theory?

In Blackrock Co Dublin where I had to go to get the thorn removed from my buttock last year, at high tide
the sea comes over the railway line located parallel to the shore. So a 2 meter high rise in sea levels would swamp
all the coastal properties.
Why then is it one of the most expensive properties in the Ireland and the world? Why are they getting insurance?
The reason is buyers know its a scam

It was around this time that the term 'Global Warming' was dropped and replaced with the very loose term 'Climate Change'

Only establishment bootlickers and 'green' party self-hating hippy tree hugging scum actually believe this utter nonsense now.

We may as well re-name schools - ‘ indoctrination centres’

https://gript.ie/td-climate-alarmism-in-proposed-school-syllabus-horrifying/

TD: “CLIMATE ALARMISM” IN PROPOSED SCHOOL SYLLABUS “HORRIFYING”

A proposed Leaving Cert plan which would see students taught how to “effectively organise” around climate issues and study the “tactics” of “activists” has been described as “horrifying” by one Roscommon-Galway TD.
Michael Fitzmaurice of the Independent Ireland Party was responding to a story published by Gript this week, which outlined how the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) has released a draft “Climate Action & Sustainable Development” specification document for the Leaving Cert curriculum.
The proposals – which are out for public consultation – aim to help “students become effective organisers of collective change” regarding climate change by having them study topics such as “lobbying”, “civil disobedience”, “boycotting,” the “tactics” of “activist” groups, and more.

However, reacting to the draft, Independent Ireland TD Michael Fitzmaurice said he “could not believe what I was reading in this document,” claiming that “it is absolutely scandalous the way people in departments are trying to get into the minds of youngsters in a bad way with the proposals that I have seen.”
He want on to warn that teaching students about tactics such as “civil disobedience” could lead to young people engaging in the destruction of private property as a form of protest, as has been seen in high profile protests by climate radicals such as Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil.
“CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE HAS BEEN MANIPULATED BY CLIMATE ALARMISTS TO EXCUSE THE DESTRUCTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY”
“The document advocates for ‘civil disobedience’ in combating climate change,” he said.
“And in what appears to be becoming a common trend for this government, what is quite an important phrase, goes undefined and is open to interpretation.

"Across the nation, roughly $22 trillion in residential properties are at risk of "severe or extreme damage" from flooding, high winds, wildfires, heat or poor air quality, Realtor.com found. An economist with the online real estate firm said that such dangers can impact home prices, drive up insurance costs and even destabilize the broader housing market. "
Makes you wonder why all the elites buy seaside properties.

Val I'm surprised at you. You said you love research but you appear to have done none here. It really makes me think you're not the Val I used to know.

"These researchers estimate the carbon footprint of the first year of the war to be in the region of 120 million tonnes of CO₂e. That’s roughly the annual emissions of Belgium. Ammunition and explosives alone for around 2 million tonnes of CO₂e in that period"

"The Agora Energiewende think tank said its preliminary calculations show that Germany emitted 673 million metric tons of CO2 last year, a decline of 73 million metric tons compared with 2022 and the lowest level since the 1950s."

If Putin stops the war and withdraws, then yes, we'd have a net loss in emissions.
I doubt he'd get an award for it though.
So your point is the the war caused 120 million tons but the decline in Germanys emission is 73 million tons leaving an over all increase of 47 million tons. Ok but that is for one year, If the war ends soon (which is likely) there will be a 73 million ton decrease. So Putin is doing good work in the long term.

Rather than confuse the above post to Kangal, I will counter that you cannot trade emissions between countries to arrive at an aggregate. Ireland imports coal produced electricity from Britain but treats it as carbon free. the emission enter the air outside Ireland so they say it is carbon neutral. Saudi Arabia extract oil from the ground and sell it to me. I am forced to pay a carbon tax on it. I did not produce it, I imported it. I use the oil to produce beef on my farm and the EU is planning to make be pay a carbon tax on the beef I produce. So Saudi can profit from oil sales but I have to pay the tax on it both ways.

Putin will stop the war tomorrow if only the Neocons would grow up.

He is. The destruction of his military ensures that we shouldn't have to worry about increased emissions through the invasion of another country.
Destruction of who's military? The production of tanks and munitions has multiplied in Russia by a factor of 2 to 3. What has the west managed?

I too agree emissions trading is just bogus and is just an attempt to avoid hard decisions.
It is just another part of the carbon scam designed to further enrich big money.

You will have an election in Ireland later this year. The green party will run candidates. It could be that none will be re-elected or all will be re-elected.

They claim that is all get re-elected the weather in 50 years time will be colder than if none get re-elected.

So the way you vote in 2024 will effect the temperature in 2074. Will there be statues to green politicians?

So if we don't vote Green we will have warmer weather in Ireland meaning that we will be burning less fuel to stay warm?

Sounds like deal to me!

Whatever it is paid to do. Integrity is not its strong point.
It's been let back on the Ukraine thread so normal Twatter scutter and spamming will resume.
The lads running and moderating this place will never learn.

"February 2024 saw notable spikes in temperatures, particularly in the first half of the month. From the 8th to the 11th, temperatures were consistently about 2°C higher than the levels observed between 1850 and 1900.

The warming trend wasn't uniform globally. European temperatures in February 2024 were 3.30°C above the 1991-2020 average. Central and eastern Europe experienced even higher temperatures."
Yawn....

Just who is collecting this data and how?

Even Fox has cottoned on to the corruption-

Who cares.
If milder winters and nice warm summers are the thing they're whining about I say bring it on.

On a side note, if winters are milder surely that would result in a massive reduction in the burning of fossil fuels to heat peoples homes and businesses?

Not sure what these establishment bootlickers are complaining about, tbh.:)
