I was somewhat glib in response to the OP earlier in the year regarding another natural disaster.

Libya is the third cataclysmic event to happen in that part of the World this year.

Would Ms Catherine be able to tell me how Muslims come to terms with these unexplainable catastrophes in their lands?

If a man is going to Mosque 3 times a day, washing his feet and hands all the time, abstaining from all sorts of niceties, fasting for long periods and praying constantly.........What does he make of this when the degenerate kuffar in the west seems to get away scot free?

They are not unexplainable- it is the laws of nature or the Will of God or both. If you are a pious Muslim it is the Will of God and that is that, you throw your hands up, bitch and moan, but it does not create some existential crisis.

Muslims unless they have been Westernized do not have this whole "problem of evil" thing. Which is one of the reasons that I like them- or at least certain types of them.

Firstly define waste of time- in this worldly terms all the pious rituals handed down by the State over Covid and obeying them made a lot of people happy. Very happy indeed. Watching that made me respect Sharia and Halakha more, a lot more.

In orthodox Islam you existed before this life and you will exist after it- this life is just a test and not the be all and end all. The pious rituals are supposedly about being true to your inner most nature most of all.

Muslims or at least a large majority of Muslims do not believe in Original Sin, everyone is born a Muslim, all animals are Muslims. The pious rituals,etc are seen by many Muslims as being loyal to the Fitrah or inner most human nature.

"Allah knows you do not"- who knows what the fat Yanks will face after death and it is appointed for us all to die, sometimes things can be terrible at the time but afterwards you discover they were Blessing in disguise. All of us have a very skewed, very limited view of things- it is always good to remember that.

There are no promises in the New Testament that Christians will be spared suffering in this world. Quite the reverse in fact.
