I wonder how long either side can continue. Surely even food for the 45 million will get scarse in another few days.
 
Maybe Belarus willfully fresh men and make a push for Kiev which needs to be captured quickly before things get bad economically.
 
It is a very worrying time, I am afraid that they may Nuke Finland, there is a chap there that isn't all too clever and may think a sauna would save him.

This could easily spill over to WW3, and you would have to wonder if America would be spared the carnage as it was in the two previous wars.
 
Looks like Putin has paused the last couple of days, maybe hoping for a sweet deal. He has kept fighting at a low level.
 
There is something very fishy about this war. Putin is playing with kids gloves and holding bacl.

If it is 1, then oil is very close to the price needed to collapse the US and even more so Europe. Note how he has not stopped selling oil or gas. He with a slow conflict can drive it to $250 easily.

It gives a possible reason as to why Putin has so far played with kid's gloves. In his plan, he already has the eastern provinces, not just two but everything east of the Dnieper River, and he does not wish to feed any insurrgency. Have a quick gander.

Getting decent reporting on the situation is next to impossible. Hopefully by weekend the picture will be more clear.
If the true target is the western economies, then Putin has already won.
 
Now the reports again contradict and the Poles are sending ALL their Migs.
Surely now Putin will turn off the gas.

I meant , he says the Ukrainian army in the East is surrounded and will be captured or destroyed.

Supposedly there are 20000 fighters in the Foreign Legion.
 
I see it reported that Bellorussia have joined the war(i thought they had already) and are to invade tonight.
According to the Daily Mail anyway.

That should see the circle joined around Kiev and at best, a siege begin.

At worst they will pulverize the city.

Eventually they will surrender or a new escalation will take place.

They are both tougher than the west predicted it seems.

It is looking that the Russians now are grinding them down.

I would question the resolve of the foreign fighters. It will not be like Iraq etc for the contractors where they were well supplied and had total air superiority.
The Syrians on the other hand will probably be more enduring.

I wonder what the situation is in Syria also but certainly Assad owes Putin big time.

Todays episode. The jist of it is that the big strike in western ukraine eliminated many foreign fighters and was a warning to the west. It is a good listen.
