Those living off government research budgets will always say that their little scheme works.
That's if you're obviously still stuck watching RTE for your weather and world view updates

Meanwhile, climate modification contractors always show their proof, that's how they do business.
America, Emirates, China certainly don't fuck around with your pathetic "research budgets" clown notions.🤣

So, what is the situation?

Best to look to where the debate is publicly acknowledged . . .

July 18, 2024

Geoengineering is a complicated issue. Some want to relegate the discussion to a conspiracy theory. Many want to debate the differences between chemtrails and contrails.
But the fact is that weather modification has been around since the 1960’s (or longer). During that same decade, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland put laws on the books restricting the practice of weather modification by the spraying of aerosols in the atmosphere, and this ban was enforced by local sheriffs and state law enforcement officials.
The fact is, this is not a new conversation. In recent years, Tennessee has now become the first state to take this step and ban geoengineering in our skies. However, the law lacks any real enforcement mechanism and responses from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) show a lack of enthusiasm, initiative, or any real interest in enforcing this new law. Some of this is due to the fact that much of what we are
trying to address is novel and not well understood by local officials.

ETA: For added perspective we can acknowledge that Ireland is considerably smaller than Tennessee🤓

Climate moddification contractors. OK, show me their sales speil.

Oh, and the only time I engage with RTE is an occasional bout of Lyric FM in the car, and that’s hardly the most impressive channel, it’s all very safe and boring.

Weather biggest cause of stress
Unusual weather this year was the biggest cause of stress farmers reported.

More than a fifth of farmers are considered at risk of dying by suicide and almost all know someone who has taken their own lives, experts have warned.

A typical feature of folk who are on the edge is that they don't want to mention it or talk about the troubles they are facing, instead they'll just reply "It's OK, no complaints" when in fact the truth is - Things are not OK

Like the other day at home, I pointed out how bad the weather was for summer time, my friend said "The weather's OK, I'm not complaining" Then he said, "Will you close the door there's a cold draught" I said "But sure it's summertime surely we can open the door for air" he said "Close the door it's draughty"
Where upon I said but look "You are complaining"
He was correct though, it had been raining with a cool breeze, but as far as he was concerned Everything's fine and dandy until . . . It's actually not.

Altogether now - Oh yes it is!

Of course it is, nothing to see here anymore. . .

Ballycross Apple Farm in Bridgetown, Co. Wexford has announced its decision to close its doors to the public this week.

The farm was open over weekends for visitors up to six months of the year from May to December, with a particular festive atmosphere around Halloween, where visitors could come and pick their own pumpkins.

In a statement, Ballycross Apple Farm said it was with “a heavy heart” that the decision to not re-open was made.

“We would like to thank each and every customer who ever paid a visit to the farm over the many years we have been open, your custom has been very much appreciated,” the team at Ballycross Apple Farm stated.

Juice produce from the farm will remain available in the usual local and independent retailers in Co. Wexford.

“All work of any kind has stopped at the present time,” he said.

“Ground conditions are very poor. It would be impossible to put any form of machinery on to land at the present time. We can’t even get on with building site work.

“I am aware of farmers wanting to get second-cut silage made. Spreading slurry is an even bigger issue of concern.”

He explained that many farmers in the west of Ireland did not get slurry out in the spring because of the poor weather and ground conditions back then.

“Now they are sitting with their tanks full and still unable to get slurry out. Meanwhile, the date of the slurry spreading ban creeps ever closer,” he added.

“Farmers are genuinely concerned about the impact of the weather right now.”

A number of tillage farmers in east Donegal have confirmed that many spring barley crops are starting to lie.

This is a direct consequence of the heavy rains and winds that have battered the region over the past three weeks.

The whole purpose of the IFA is to cringe, whinge and send out tear stained press releases in the hope of more government handouts.

Myles says the Marty (Morrissey) party has become detestable to him
I haven't seen or heard him

I was referring to MM but the same is true of you Myles, quite correct.
What's up with Marty ?

Why are you so obsessed with the weather Sir? Have you farmer brothers or sisters around Tubber who are giving out?
I'm a weather enthusiast. While others are watching TV or watching the ball, I'm watching the skies for all things, close to nature, it's a way of life.

Meanwhile the quality of white cabbage has dropped significantly. Dunnes are supplying half size half green supposedly white cabbages in place of proper white cabbage throughout half of year, it started in spring got better in summer and now it's back to a shocking low standard.
The weathers effect on growth is tangible

Possibly Buddy.

Did you know that my ex had a tattoo of a sea shell on the inside of her right thigh, it was amazing.

When you put your ear to it you could smell the sea!

History, i.e. beyond the the last three years. The last 30 millennia might be a better time frame.
Fair enough and though your view has much relevance and i do agree with many of your points, nevertheless we must remember that the world/Ireland has gone through many changes in the last century which has changed the earth radically.
At the turn of the 19/20th century there were only 1 billion people who prior to the discovery/use of Oil were dependent on whale oil - Those 1 billion almost drove the whales to extinction. Now we use oil but even that has been used up in many locations. We've chopped down all the natural trees and are seemingly unable to replant them.
We have a significant huge effect upon the planets make-up (plastic in the oceans and the food chain) We can destroy all life as it's been forever within a few hours of a full-on nuclear war.

So no surprised we can certainly Geoengineer the planets cloud protection against solar radiation, that's bound to change the weather, it's a very simple concept.

We beat nature when necessary.

So, today's paper has a message for us, surprise surprise!!o_O

Just when we thought we could look forward to a stretch of settled conditions - the weather has other plans. After promising forecasts suggested a weekend and week ahead of warm and sunny conditions, those hopes have unfortunately been crushed.

While our neighbours across the Irish Sea are bracing for blistering temperatures of up to 30C, it's heatwave heartbreak for Ireland, as we will only experience a fleeting touch of the warm air drifting up from Spain.

In a crushing update, Met Eireann confirmed that the anticipated good stretch of weather will be disappointingly brief. Although temperatures are expected to reach a pleasant 22C on Saturday, the joy will be short-lived. On Sunday, a familiar pattern of rain is set to move slowly across the country, intensifying at times and dampening any remaining summer cheer.

Spent a couple of weeks on The Algarve and I have to say last year was a lot hotter than this year.
It's called weather and I always laugh at the vanity of mankind trying to control it.
The yanks/canadians and their cloud seeding projects are making things worse this side of the atlantic if anything.

But not for Britain just 100 miles and half an hour away by plane. They'll be getting 30C.;)

And we've been getting autumn & winter temps at night half the time during July, August
Central heating was on regularly all through the summer.

In France it is traditionally held that summer ends on August 16th, i.e. a fortnight ago.

Sure about that? Perhaps it's true back in the ancient days, but in these days things have changed (climate) it's roasting over there now right now at 17:17 PM anything from 19C lowest on the north coast and 31-34C inland 😅

It's been 8-9C at night and 14-15C during many successive rainy days without sun. that's middle of autumn temps in June-July and some of August. It's not only the low temps at night but also the humidity. always at 80-90%.
Turning the heating on for 2 hours brings the temps up to 18C otherwise it's at 11-12C, Not good for sitting in unless everyone's got their coats on😬 in summer, it's ridiculous:D

I think it was back in the ice age when mammoths strolled the Paris Basin that the precedent was established.

Dunno, personally I go by the car thermometer and the handheld infrared laser which mostly tally with each other and ventusky.
Funny thing, upon checking the records, is that for many nights in June the temps plunged to as low as 6C in parts of mayo, carlow & wicklow. - Feckin freaky summertime blues🥶

Did you muster up enough interest to read through Page1 of those links?

A blue sky day here so far, very sunny very good but one can see the jets starting to lay down their cloud formation foundation matrix - Gotta have clouds to seed, eh?

ETA; (4 days later) - No comment?? No surprise!

Anyway, I was just leafing through the papers and this reoccurring theme popped up again.🧐

"High rates of mental ill-health among farmers identified in a recent survey are "alarming" and should serve as a catalyst for further action, the Irish Farmers Association has said.

Some 22.8% of 457 farmers surveyed by the University College Dublin Agri Mental Health Group were considered at risk of suicide and 82% knew someone who had died by suicide, as reported in the Irish Examiner last week . . .
She pointed to a number of factors currently impacting farmers, including long hours, financial instability and unpredictable weather, markets or regulations.

“These factors can contribute to high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression,” she said. . . .

. . . “In more recent years farmers and the farming industry have been seriously put to the test by additional stressors and environmental and financial changes. These changing circumstances requires developing extra resilience,”
The top reason for the stress farmers reported to the UCD group were the extreme weather this year, , , ,

See, if we are deprived from sunlight, not only does it effect the potatoes and tillage but also ourselves too, it actually physically effects our bodies and minds. This is all very well understood. The results show.

The Farmers are suffering from SADness:cry:😨😰 And it's not only Farmers . . .

. . . Further, with less outdoor exposure to sunlight on the skin in winter, people with SAD may produce less Vitamin D [10, 11]. As Vitamin D is believed to play a role in serotonin activity, Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency have been associated with clinically significant depressive symptoms [12, 13]. Causal links between serotonin, melatonin, circadian rhythms, Vitamin D, and SAD have not yet been confirmed. However, associations among these key factors are present and are continuing to be researched.

2.1.1. Symptoms
Symptoms of winter seasonal pattern disorders center on sad mood and low energy [14–18]. Information for the lay public identify that people with SAD can feel sad, irritable, and may cry frequently; and they are tired and lethargic, have difficulty concentrating, sleep more than normal, lack energy, decrease their activity levels, withdraw from social situations, crave carbohydrates and sugars, and tend to gain weight due to overeating [5,

Record breaking rain and low temperatures through out the year are symptomatic an unusual unnatural cloudy climate climate and that is what Ireland experiences.😪

Bandwagon jumping to lever more money out of the government.

What the IFA will fail to mention is that every new handout scheme involves paperwork, adding further to the admin stress felt by farmers, and that is a huge burden already.
