So you don't think each one will return fire with bigger and bigger missiles?

There'll be a flurry once things kick off, but the targets will not be arbitrary. Just stay away from power stations, military bases and most large cities

Shannon is toast

Well that is true, but if you have been you would agree after the airport there is very little left, well apart from Limerick and that's fair game in Nuclear War.

Oh, but it will, but only for certain geographic zones/nations/cities.

You think Putin or Biden wants to nuke every town and hamlet?
Even the largest nukes have limited effective range.
Nukes have a global range over time. The radioactive fallout will permeate every part of our world, as it has done already.

Nuclear strikes have to be tactical due to limited resources and what makes sense in terms of military goals.
Of Course but no plan survives first contact with the enemy, but when NYC, Hollywood, Washington, London, Paris & Berlin have been vapourised, all within 5 minutes by hypersonics, then do you think the west will be satisfied with just a hit on Moscow, Petersburg, sochi and Beijing, if so then It'll be finished by lunchtime and only 10 missiles used up.
We'll all be scratching our heads saying "What was the point of that"?

Many of us are there already. but the American Neo-Clowns have been salivating for war with Russia for decades. There is Satanism at work behind the scenes.

They were flying in Ukrainian airspace.
Yer man Col McGregor has pointed out on a couple of occasions that it was flying in a Russian military identification zone with its transponder switched off.

I'm inclined more towards his version of events rather than yours TBH.

The U.S. military said a Russian fighter jet harassed and then collided with the propeller of the MQ-9 Reaper on Tuesday, forcing the U.S. to bring the drone down in international waters. Washington said it was a “brazen violation of international law” and summoned Moscow's envoy to lodge a protest.
