That happened everywhere. All immigrants got better treated in America than at home and they were allowed guns to shoot bullies. I was at the civil war sites and the Irish fought to the death for then USA.
In the 2nd world war there was great patriotism. Everyone gave it their all. Somewhat similar at the time of the Korean war.

By the time of the Vietnam war, draft protests began. but they were the exception. Now there is no patriotism. The right wing soldiers will not fight for Chuck Schumer, and the left wing will not fight for Trump.
Few will fight to help Israel.

Few will fight at all and the government cannot jail them all. If that happens it will be a major change.
 
How long can the Israels stall before invading. Perhaps they are content with a bombing campaign.

"Hamas is not a terrorist organisation, it is a liberation group, 'mujahideen' waging a battle to protect its lands and people," he told lawmakers from his ruling AK Party, using an Arabic word denoting those who fight for their faith.

Unlike many of its NATO allies and the European Union, Turkey does not consider Hamas a terrorist organisation and hosts members of the group on its territory. Ankara backs a two-state solution to the decades-old Israel-Palestinian conflict.

I think about the Armenian and Assyrian genocides.
