The economy seems to be booming rather than falling apart. Tradesmen have never been so busy or impossible to get hold of while the queues and jams over the weekend as people went shopping were as long as I can ever remember them. Perhaps it's just spring fever or maybe folk are ignoring the memo, but there is no sign of things slowing down as we are told to expect.
 
Wow, the markets have given up the rally. I suspect now that somebody big is caught and is going to announce a bankruptcy

A lot of credible points in the article.
The global logistics industry is a very fine tuned instrument.
Remember that VLCC jamming the suez.
The Houthis at the moment.
This will totally fuck the transfer of the most mundane widget to a plant.
And if you can't source that!!!!!.
It's all JIT no inventory anymore.
Repercussions will appear in the most unexpected circumstances.

The blocking of the Suez and covid woke a lot of companies up to the supply chain being a little too finely tuned and I doubt that they have all left themselves as vulnerable. I know of an eastern tyre company that keeps stocks high here in the west and a well known European one that tried to be clever in the midst of the storm and lost a lot of business in doing so.

Besides lessons having been learned there is a slow down in manufacturing at the moment so the demand for components is not so strong.

All in all I'm not convinced that the supply chain will collapse to the extent that it did.

Gold , si lver and stocks had a heck of a day, Bonds had at one point in the day, suffered the biggest daily loss since 1982 but it came back a bit

Yeah but good for who? I'm very familiar with the area around Leixlip, and know for a fact that new estates in North Kildare are populated largely by Indians being employed by Intel and other multinationals nearby. How can young Irish couples compete with this?

And isn't it the sign of an immature, infantile nation that wears as a badge of honour the fact that it's a glorified tax haven for multinational companies?

On the subject of the general economy I was talking to a lad recently who does groundwork with his digger. Apparently work is dropping off as the money isn't there for extensions and new builds he tells me. Life has just got too damn expensive for there to be any left over for such projects.

They also know that the Governments and TD's have committed Treason so there are hoping to put distance between themselves, and the Ponzi Scheme Collapse and the Committing of Treason ! !

Never before have so many TD's jumped ship = = They know = = A Reckoning is Coming.

Handing the Leadership of FG to the Idiot Harris = = No competition for the Leadership which came with the job as Taoiseach at the time !

Put the " " Useful Idiot " " in ~ ~ And he has shown himself to be useless and totally out of his depth !
