I recently did a 112 hour fast. I had to stop on a Monday evening because I had a tour on the Tuesday. I had less than 2.5 days to do the full 7 days.
i may never get ti do the full week.

i will do a 40 fast at the drop of a hat. It is easy. Just stop eating at 6pm and abstain the following day. Go to bed very early, say 8 pm and dont get up early the next morning, ideally til 10 am and you have an easy 40 hours.
Agree. Fasting is my staple too. Nothing resets the brain like it. Gotta time it though with shifts as I will confess to needing food especially when working nights. My absolute emergency pick me up is an icy Coke - a can of which is always in my work fridge, esp. when there is no time to eat.
But yea when I'm off I often do a 36 to 48 hour fast.Very good for you, once you hydrate with appropriate fluids - not Coke🤣

I never drink soda orany type of energy drink like red bull . Up til a few years ago, I drank fanta just on New Years Day, when I would have 4 or 5 cans.

so it would s water , tea or coffee for me.

i rarely take alcohol , the only exception being when on vacation, I might have a local beer if visiting a pub. If just eating in a pub or restaurant, i do not drink alcohol

Fair. I don't either. But a cheeky icy coke is an emergency helper through hot and demanding busy shifts. For me at least. But I am partial to the odd G&T especially on a warm summer evening😇

I am assuming that in your job, you clock up a lot of steps, a lifesaver.

It is EXCEEDING difficult to walk an average of 6 miles a day or over. There looks like there were 6 days that I did not do a long walk. And sometimes I just do a short walk if someone is with me. So 3 days I did no walk.

so basically you have to walk almost every day, and plenty of 9 or 10 miles and one was 12.
I will not have the time when working to do this.

And I will not have time to stationary bike and lift either. I bike in the morning and I walk in the evening into dusk and after. I like the setting sun.

I am on day three of a projected 4 day fast. Easier than the last two but still a serious effort. I may do 4.5 , we shall see.
62 hours done and 32 hours to go, at least

At the end of this I will be making a video of me getting on the dreaded scale.

This is why I prefer the trees and birds.
Me too. I saw this documentary once about a 90 plus year old lady who sleeps outside ( voluntarily) every night in the Alps. Her cabin is deep in the woods and she says the closeness to the animals and trees invigorate her....she wouldn't do that anywhere else I guess - Europe is truly a sweet spot for humans re predators etc
I think that is why THEY want it so much.

WE had a lady farmer who lived in a barrell with her cattle and had some hay and rags/coats to cover her .
there was sheet of galvanize tied to the front of it and she slept surrounded by snow for much of the winter .
food was delivered to her by the neighbours and they took her cattle and sold it for her at the mart .
she was the last person i saw with the lines of her face filled with what looked like coal dust but was dirt as she had no means to wash herself and when i was young you would frequently see elderly people in an awful state with wet piss on their trousers and all the edges of their coats and shirts had a polished rim of dirt at least 10 years old.
special needs people had a one room shed in the corner of a field and did simple work for farmers who fed them and would get them second hand clothes when required .
I came from the middle ages to the 21st century in my lifetime.
