The UK's longest-lasting snow patch has melted away - for only the tenth time in 300 years - as temperatures hit 32.7C on hottest day of the year so far.

The patch of snow, nicknamed 'the Sphinx', forms on a sheltered part of Braeriach in the Cairngorms in Scotland.

It melted away earlier this week for the fifth time since 2017 and until 100 years ago, it was thought to be a permanent feature on the mountain.

As usual there must be something behind all this that Joe Public is not being told. One thought that occurred to me is that the UK government needs to make a huge investment in the national grid if it is to transform to electric transport, and that will of course require one country in particular to supply much of the equipment, that country being China.

China, as is well established, likes to implant its own layer of monitoring and control systems in the electrical distribution hardware it supplies to other countries, so is the proposed legislation simply being put there to preempt complaints of Chinese control over the everyday life of the Brits? When Beijing decides to turn the screw on certain groups within UK society, troublesome posters on social media for instance, will those being targeted find their fridge being cut off and the bacon going mouldy?

And it will all be perfectly legal because the country has been conquered by the Chinese without a shot being fired.

I read on another forum of a fellow who did around 750 miles in a hired EV and got a charging bill of €80, his own diesel car would have cost just over half that.

I don't believe VW for one second. They are deeply embedded in the rectum of China which is the company's biggest market. China just happens to be the largest producer of batteries and owns the rights to 80% of the worlds reserves of the minerals required to make them.
