But it's not their own pipeline, is it?
Guys, you really haven't thought this through at all.
Why would the Russians continue to pay part of the maintainance of a pipeline that was always going to be shut down by the Germans and was being barely used prior to shutdown?
What happened to gas prices when it was blown up? Who benefited from that rise?
How much extra is Europe now having to spend on security for their own infrastructure, now that it's proven to be so vulnerable? Where is that money going to come from in already stretched defence budgets?
What has Russia actually lost, that it hadn't lost already prior to the explosion?
How much did it gain directly and indirectly from the event?
And finally, if they really didn't do it, why were they there right before the explosion?
And before you all run off and blame the US and say they were the main beneficiary....go check out who is Germanys largest supplier now.
