The area affected is pretty fucking large and you don't release a massive reservoir without waterlogging the ground and destroying infrastructure.

This doesn't make sense. The Ukrainian counteroffensive has thus far been a dismal failure with the Ukies getting attrited horribly and losing heavy armour along for the bargain, including some of the top-tier units sent to them by the US. The dam feeds crimea which is already a Russian bastion. Russia was doing fine. It didn't need to blow up a dam. Since the fall of Bahkmut Russian annexation of Ukie territory has accelerated. This is sabotage by Ukraine, buying time.

The tee shirted yoof leader selling the war to the impressionable may no longer be the image that the US wishes to convey.

Hopefully the situation is moving on to something a little more sensible.

Russia’s losses were immeasurably smaller: "Altogether 71 servicemen of the combined group of forces were killed and 210 others wounded while repulsing the enemy offensive. Fifteen tanks, nine infantry fighting vehicles, two trucks and nine guns were taken out."

There was a clip of him meeting some Uk rep yesterday in Kiev. Funny though It's always the exact same room and setting. You never see him anywhere else in Kiev or within the Palace itself. Always just that particular setting.

Here we have Ukraine happily boasting of shelling residential areas -

Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

"Some 460 units of various ordnance have been launched at the Shebekino municipal district and 26 drops of explosive devices by drones have been recorded. There were no casualties. In the city of Shebekino, strikes were mostly delivered on residential areas," he wrote.

And the damage inflicted, which is obviously an absolute game changer -

the shelling of the Kozinka settlement damaged a gas pipe, cutting off gas service to 74 customers
