That's a tell on an economy going down the shitter. With some friends from Germany who are telling me about the economic downturn in their country, inflation being the major worry. They know of a lass with a masters in physics, a hard maths based science, who can't get a job anywhere. I guess she should of focussed on transgender trends in sub Saharan knocking shops or summat, if she really wanted to get on in life.
Correct sir .....I hear Eamonn O'Cuiv that rat fuck has called it a day alsoThe Irish Political Rats are jumping off the Titanic for a reason.
Traitors know that their Necks = = May Well be Stretched.Correct sir .....I hear Eamonn O'Cuiv that rat fuck has called it a day also
I'm reminded of the classic scene in lonesome dove......Gus McGrea(Robert Duvall) Texas ranger is hanging bushwackers and one of them continues to shout vile dirt ......Gus says .... " I gotta tell you son your a pleasure to hang"Traitors know that their Necks = = May Well be Stretched.
Ai can do all that now. Data Analytics to name but one.
AI is a tool.Ai can do all that now
Indeed. But useful tools have a habit of putting a lot of people out of work. Just ask the LudditesAI is a tool.
A very useful but overhyped tool.
Fair point.Indeed. But useful tools have a habit of putting a lot of people out of work. Just ask the Luddites
I'm hearing from several coders that Ai actually writes useful working code based on prompts for problem solving. So, were 6 coders were once needed, maybe 1 or 2 will do the same job going forward. Just one example.Fair point.
And no doubt there's going to be total job destruction in certain fields.
But AI is a very cool search engine essentially.
So depending on the algorithms and that's becoming evident in the most silly way.
The AI moniker is hype.![]()
‘Absurdly woke’: Google’s AI chatbot spits out ‘diverse’ images of Founding Fathers, popes, Vikings
A Google official admitted the chatbot’s image generation tool was “missing the mark.”nypost.com
Just saying!
Mate of mine finds it very useful for exactly the same reason.I'm hearing from several coders that Ai actually writes useful working code based on prompts for problem solving. So, were 6 coders were once needed, maybe 1 or 2 will do the same job going forward. Just one example.
I think a lot of more mundane white collar data roles are in jeopardy
But can it? I have been following the AI story over on linkedin and it seems that it has been hugely overhyped according to many. It's like everything, all gloss and polish on the surface, but dig a little deeper and things soon start to get murky.Ai can do all that now
As always, rubbish in, rubbish out. What AI can't do, and we must not let it try, is make judgement calls, for it has to base judgements on subjective values, and who's values are to be trusted universally? Nobody's.Mate of mine finds it very useful for exactly the same reason.
There again you have people who know what they are doing and what to expect.
And can sort anything odd.
But if you're going to take it as the ultimate authority.
It's not going to work.
Or decisions made will be flawed by wrong inputs.
Yet there is a huge short of technicians in other areas, just ask any car dealership.Indeed. But useful tools have a habit of putting a lot of people out of work. Just ask the Luddites
There is this older car guy I listen to on Youtube sometimes. He talks a lot about how modern car repair makes no sense in terms of how problems can be diagnosed or tracked. Computer modulation has made it very difficult. New car techs are now trained with the plug-and-play method. Let the computer solve the problem and we don't have too think to hard. It has resulted in a general decline in capability and standards of repair. The smaller guys are getting pushed out and the Big Dealership model is about getting the punters in and out as fast as possible, further exacerbating the decline. Dealerships have very corporatized work models also that demotivates the staff. High turn over is commonYet there is a huge short of technicians in other areas, just ask any car dealership.

This is a great use of AI given our discussions.I'm hearing from several coders that Ai actually writes useful working code based on prompts for problem solving. So, were 6 coders were once needed, maybe 1 or 2 will do the same job going forward. Just one example.

I like Scotty. Uncle Tony's Garage is the guy. I do oil changes before the scheduled time, every time. It is the one thing the ordinary person can do that will substantially improve engine life and healthScotty Kilmer?
He's very interesting to listen to!
Especially wrt oil change schedules.
Thinks they're way too long.
Same here!I like Scotty. Uncle Tony's Garage is the guy. I do oil changes before the scheduled time, every time. It is the one thing the ordinary person can do that will substantially improve engine life and health
While dole-ing out the most of £12 Billion in foreign aid ( which is often just a way of bribing dodgy foreign countries )The British chancellor to announce £20 Billion worth of cuts this afternoon
Because they know there's no real consequences of note! While dole-ing out the most of £12 Billion in foreign aid ( which is often just a way of bribing dodgy foreign countries )
Also the Labour Party are handing out pretty generous pay increases to public sector workers = = Coincidently almost certainly overwhelmingly Labour Voters.
The Labour Party have gone straight to their Labour Hobby Horses = = They will continue to Fuck-Up the UK like the Tories before them.
Why do all of these Politicians Hate their Own Countries and their Own People ? !
How does that compare with the Irish national debt after the banks were bailed? It seems a lot more from my vague memories of the period and it was considered unsustainable then.It can never ever be paid down .....I pulled these figure quickly
Ireland national debt per citizen $62,600 dollars US
United States debt per citizen $93,500 dollars US
There about 340 million more people in the USA than Ireland

Intel is cutting close to 17,000 jobs and suspending its dividend payments.
The chipmaker, which employs close to 4,900 people in Ireland, said on Thursday it would cut more than 15 per cent of its workforce and suspend its dividend starting in the fourth quarter as the chipmaker pursues a turnaround centred around its loss-making manufacturing business.
So how many jobs will go in leixlip.......17% of 4900 is 883

Seems like only yesterday that the world's factories were grinding to a halt because of a chip shortage, and since then we have heard about the awful consequences of not being able to make enough military drones and so on.https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland...n-turnaround-push-shares-plummet-1657161.html
