I had a very interesting conversation with a girl who works in catering at the Citywest IPA centre.

She told me that the IPA folk that arrive there are given a phone on arrival. Then the housing authority sends them a link to their phones were they simply open a link, type in their name and (new) phone number to apply for a house. They then immediately get a 2nd link to various housing options in different locations, like a menu in a restaurant. So the person can type in ‘4 bed house in Adamstown’ and they are immediately put on the top of the list.

This girl is herself on the housing list and she her partner and their kids are living in cramped conditions in her parents house for years.

She contacted the housing authority and told them that she was privy to how the system was being hijacked by all the IPA folk and that she was going to expose what was happening. They asked her not to and she received a letter to say that she has jumped up the list and will receive a house soon.
