The Championship

Should be two crackers tomorrow. Strong possibility that Wexford could get a win. Clqre are heavily reliant on Tony Kelly. If Wexford can limit his impact they definitely have the forwards to do damage.

Galway should have enough to beat Cork.

The Tailteann Cup semis are on Sunday in Croke Park. Will be interesting to see if many turn up. @valamhic Cavan are one of the counties in action.
I am really looking forward to the hurling quarters tomorrow, will be in the garden with a couple of buddies listening on the radio.
We might have a beer or two and some decent whiskey to accompany 😋😁

Indeed Cavan are strong favs to beat Sligo and are also favs to win the competition, rightly so.

Derry just obliterated Clare. Expect Dublin to run riot against Cork.
I made a nice few quid on the hurling and football over the last three weekends. My predictions for the semi's are Derry, Dublin if O'Callaghan and McCarthy are back if not Kerry. In the hurling Galway at +5 on the handicap Clare v Kilkenny is very hard to call, I'm just about favouring Clare...

I forgot the Tailteann cup final, at the prices one would have to say Westmeath, just about mind...sorry Val😁 that'll be a 5 time accum, when I clarification on the two lads. I have contacts in Cuala, so I should be able to find out about Con O' Callaghan's situation...

I did a double at the weekend. Galway plus 1 and Mayo plus 4. Put a hefty amount on it. Fuckin' Mayo. You'd think looking at the score that they were hammered but they had loads of chances.

Double again this weekend: Kilkenny +1 and Galway +6.

The Galway bet is a bit dodgy. Limerick could blow them out of the park, but Shefflin is a wily aul fox, and I expect them to put on a performance in Croker. Clare are quality, but if Kilkenny can limit Tony Kelly's influence they could scrape a win.

Hard to see them losing by six points sure enough.

Right lads, it's the big day. I know everyone is on tenterhooks and praying that Galway don't lose by more than 6. So thanks for your best wishes. I stand to win 400.

Thinking of sticking the winnings on a double: Kilkenny +3 against Limerick and Kerry to beat Dublin.

I've been reliably informed Con O' Callaghan will not be playing on Sunday. I think that swings it in Kerry's favour.

Ah Dublin should have won that match yesterday. They were all over them in the first half but couldn't convert their chances. Had O'Callaghan played I've no doubt they would have gone through*

I wouldn't rule out Galway in the final. Kerry will be hyped to the hilt but the truth is they are heavily reliant on David Clifford. Galway have the forward to do damage, too.

*On a positive note, my double is still on (thank you Sean O'Shea!!!).

As I believe both finals will be very tight, I'm doing a KK, Galway double. I'm also gonna have a mad sneaky bet on the double result, draw-draw on both games.

It is not always the best team that wins a game. They will die for Patrick Joyce and it is 21 years since he won the last one. They likely will get that team on the sideline as a group before or in the dressing room and the tribesmen will be fired up. I am going to put money on them myself.

Surely he knows how to pronounce his own name??

My money is on Kerry, ill be cheering them on!

Why are the Hurling and football finals being held so early. It used to be September?

They revamped the schedule to cater for clubs. Now all of the matches are crammed into a period of about two and a half months with the finals at the end of July.

The GAA seem intent on destroying the game. First they gave the rights to a certain number of matches to SKY Sports, a British corporation (yes, Irish people have to pay a British company to watch our national games); then they introduced the awful "mark" in football, a feature from that horrible basterdised game in Australia.

And it used to be great watching the hurling and football throughout the summer, but now it's all over before feckin August!

Good post. It is likely indeed that the order came down to scuttle the culture as prompted by these sports.

Well well. Won a nice sum today. Must be the luckiest bet in history. Kerry won in the last second and Kilkenny scored in the ladt minute to make it a two point loss which means my +3 was good. Happy days.
Nice. That spread was golden

Right lads, bet of the week is Kerry's David Clifford to win RTE man of the match this Sunday, 7/2. The lad is a genius and likely to step up to the plate.

Well it surely does s 50/50 for Kerry to win and he f so, he is certainly the man. So these odds are decent.

What is the spread.

Mabe him and galway to cover
