. . . . India has successfully landed on the Moon – for less than the cost of the film Interstellar.
The Indian space agency announced on Wednesday that it had completed a “soft landing” on the lunar surface, near its southern pole. It becomes the first ever to land there, and just the fourth country to successfully send a mission to the Moon at all.
And it did so on a very restrictive budget. The Chandrayaan-3 cost was sent to the Moon at a cost of about 6.15 billion rupees, or $75 million, according to Reuters.
That is less than the cost of most blockbuster space films. Gravity cost $100 million, The Martian cost $108 million – and it was less than half the cost of Interstellar, which was filmed on a budget of $165 million.
It even costs less than some houses. The UK’s most expensive house, for instance, went on sale at £200 million, or nearly three-and-a-half missions to the Moon.

These videos appear totally fake. The surface could not be flying past like that and the rover could not leave thread marks in dust .
And why would ridiculous music be added.
And wheres the other 2 or 3 angles simultaneously recorded? My budget phone has 3 lenses on it! plunketts ghost is spot on in regard to comments made on most all the vids so far - Fake as Hell, are we to believe that's all there is to it?

All this activity in chasing after the moon and yet we hear little or nothing of it in the MSM. Over the weekend the news was, understandably, full of the the Clonmel tragedy and that is not to be belittled, and yet the number two item was some soccer lass caught snogging an official, or some such. You'd have thought that a 'second' attempt at a lunar landing would have fitted in somewhere in between.
See, not having a TV to watch I didn't know about the things you've mentioned there, and why should I? it's none of my business and either is half baked news in general but i must admit to being a bit curious to the other half of news stories we never get to hear about - The Sinead O'Connor autopsy results, the filling station explosion inquest results(that story went on all week and the next)
Since we rarely get the full picture from the telly, why bother with it?

Likewise I don't watch the telly, it came from a couple of radio news bulletins I was in no position to avoid.
I have certainly moved to the the opinion that the MSM is just entertainment nowadays, the real debate is emerging in the online sphere and that is why governments are moving to curtail it, or condoning those vast enterprises which are subjecting it to their own form of censorship.
It just goes to show what we were stuck with in times past and what many folk are stuck on today, all living in such different worlds

A while back there was a lovely full moon. I was looking through my averagely good binoculars and could see a lot of detail. Amazing that given the power of modern telescopes, there are no photos of the multitude of moon lander landings (over 21) over the years. The Earth facing side of the moon must be littered with debris at this point.
