All I know about Tommy Robinson is what he said in his Oxford Union presentation.
I watched it because I had heard there was notoriety about him, and I simply wanted to hear what he had to say for himself.
I said that he seemed sincere on the basis of this address.
And that what he said about his experiences that drove him, seemed genuine and from the heart.
I noticed he was untrained, not well educated, of the common man with all accompanying human faults - and that this was certainly part of his appeal to the common man.
Now I wouldn’t consider that makes me a “supporter”. (I’ve never even heard him speak outside of that Oxford address.)
Only that I think he is genuine, and as an individual seems to me to be a lot more on the level than the vast majority in the political sphere.
Now as for “nationalism”, you Jambo hold a very particular idea of what this means.
In effect your movement has turned the word into yet more of your jargon, and you bleat the word as such.
Btw I don’t like any mass movement. Rather I like individuals saying what they have to say, from their own experience and perceptions.
Whether Tommy Robinson or anyone else.
Whereas people in a cult or mass movement are not individuals and you can very quickly tell the difference if you are reasonably intelligent and attuned to it.
But back to “nationalism”. Well I would hold the old way the Irish language was spoken, truly reflecting the mind of the Irish man, in the highest regard.
In my book that would be a core current of any worthwhile Irish “nationalism”.
Or let us call it “patriotism” to try and distinguish it from the current ascendant various internet mass movements and jargon pushers.
So I would support most people acting from a feeling of affection for their country, or from devotion to their way of life, and their way of thinking - that they believe is worth everything (without having any desire to force that upon others.)
But mass movements, racists, stupidity, ignorance, I have no truck with. Apparently it is because of that that I “support” your various enemies.
